Situated on the north-west coast of the main island Mahe on
a headland affording stunning views of the Ocean, The Sunset Beach
Hotel is an intimate Hotel with very high standard of accommodation
and service.
Accommodation is in 17 Standard Rooms, 6 Junior Suites and a luxury
2 bedroomed Villa. All rooms have en-suite facilities and are fitted
with air conditioning, direct dial telephone, safe and hairdryer.
The luxury villa, set in the rock face and complete with private
garden and veranda, offers one of the most luxurious and romantic
settings to be found anywhere on the coastline
The hotel bar "On the
Rocks" is suspended over the swirling foam and crystal clear
waves of the Indian Ocean ; the freshwater pool is excavated
from the rock of the promontory. Guests can lounge against a
bar carved from a single huge tree trunk, favourite tipple in
hand, while the sun sets the sky alight at sundown, turning Silhouette
Island on the horizon into an inky mystery.
The Silhouette Restaurant is
tastefully furnished using local woods and works of art, it is
covered by a thatch roof, but open on the Ocean facing side giving
views over the Ocean.
The menu offers Creole, French and other international cuisines.
The lounge is equipped with carved wooden seats and comfortable
sofas in a decor of beautifully crafted replicas of schooners and
local wood-carvings.
The beach is down some steps, and is the perfect coconut palm
fringed coral beach and deep azure sea, the
water, both the swimming and the snorkelling are superb; Damsel
fish, zebra fish and parrot fish are but a few of the many species
that you may encounter.
