North Island
is the newest and most stunning of all the Seychelles Hotels.
However, North Island is not really a hotel in the accepted
sense of the word, it is more a traditional African Safari Lodge,
with stunning chalets which are mostly open-air, merging with
the lush vegetation.
The twelve individual Chalets are the design of architects Silvio
Rech and Lesley Carstens, a husband-and-wife team from South Africa.
They have created a unique design concept which gives each Chalet
a ‘Robinson Crusoe’ 5 Star ambience.
North Island epitomises the Seychelles. Idyllic white sandy beaches,
lush tropical vegetation all against a backdrop of grey granite.
North Island is a private island measuring approximately 1.5 km
in length with three granitic outcrops dominating the island. Between
the three outcrops lie three areas of flat coastal plains or plateaux.
with two freshwater lakes being formed in the middle of the Island.
Scuba diving on the surrounding reefs, snorkelling off the beaches,
deep sea and fly-fishing, mountain biking and boat trips to other
surrounding islands are ways to fill your days.
A health Spa, Gymnasium, library, wine cellar boasting numerous
fine and rare wines and heated seawater rock pool, sauna or hot
tub add to the many other facilities available.
North Island is our choice for those seeking to enjoy 6 star service
and facilities whilst at the same time being part of this amazing
environment rather than being shielded from it
There are three main beaches on the island - at any time one of
these beaches is guaranteed to be sheltered from the prevailing
winds. Honeymoon beach where a small ‘sundowner bar’ is
located certainly lives up to its name! – A coral powdery
beach fringed by coconut palms overlooking a deep azure blue Ocean.
Each Chalet is constructed of wood local stone and ‘Ylang
Ylang’ thatched roofs. Intricate carvings worked into the
deck and woodwork by Bali craftsmen mix with upturned tree trunks
whose bizarre pattern of branches form a canopy over the deck.
A private swimming pool, sun deck and magnificent sun lounger,
overlook the gardens and Ocean.
Each villa is self-contained and features a large double bedroom
with vast en-suite bathroom. The open-air bathroom is elegantly
designed and features a huge Balinese marble sunken bath tub, and
an outdoor shower with panoramic views. A private massage table
and vast towelled daybed together with twin vanity basins

There is an additional Chalet which can
be used as a Study/Lounge or second bedroom for young children.
The Bedrooms are sealed with sliding glass windows and are air-conditioned,
they are equipped with a DVD/CD system and Internet access.
Each Chalet has its own Butler, and a fully equipped ‘butlers
pantry’ where your breakfasts and meals are prepared and
served in your own private dining area overlooking the Ocean, or
alternatively you may dine in the main restaurant where you will
be offered cuisine using wild fruits and vegetables collected daily
by the chef, seafood and freshly caught fish and exotic imported
meats.
